About this place
The lunchtime bara chirashi comes with chawanmushi, pickles, miso soup and dessert for ¥1,100. Some diners who ordered it recall the satisfying bite of the whitebait and the sweet-and-sour pickles; it makes for a lunch centred on chirashi, with small dishes and soup alongside. The marinated tuna rice bowl, also ¥1,100, includes chawanmushi and the other accompaniments. Nigiri sets are available in three sizes: Ume for ¥1,700, Take for ¥2,200 and Matsu for ¥2,800. One diner who had the tuna bowl also mentioned miso soup made with shrimp heads and chawanmushi containing sakura shrimp.
In the evening, one way to dine is to begin with small plates and drinks, then finish with nigiri. On one visit, a diner paired sashimi of gizzard shad, saury and horse mackerel with beer and hot sake before moving on to nigiri; pickled plum also served as a sake accompaniment. Another diner singled out the ankimo, or monkfish liver, describing its texture as rich and smooth, without a grainy, porous quality. Sake includes options by the glass for ¥850, alongside beer and plum wine.
